Our Teaching Philosophy

Many students have an aversion towards mathematics.
To combat this, we deliver mathematics enrichment materials in a tailored manner that addresses each student’s learning style, and exposes them to the discipline’s relevance in the real world.

Everyone has the potential to be a mathematician.
We all have the ability to assess given information, analyze past events, and apply that knowledge to any problem.

Interdisciplinary cohesion among students can only add to the learning experience, by taking a more holistic view of the subject. Therefore, we hold all students to the same standard, regardless of their disciplines.

We DON'T teach-to-the-test.
We expose students to a comprehensive understanding of the course material.
We stress the importance of understanding the principles, formulas, & theorems from a particular topic & using those tools to problem solve.

We interact with our students in a one-on-one setting to develop a personal rapport & guide them as they work on homework problems, projects, and study for exams.

Calculators & mathematical software packages play an essential role in course study; however, should be incorporated as a separate & equal component to the theoretical & analytical concepts, as to not unwittingly mask foundational deficits.

Students are typically paced 1 week ahead of their course pacing at their respective institutions.
This ensures students are not seeing the material for the first time in their courses, which will add to their overall understanding of the material, & subsquent success in the course.

We strive to find new ways to deliver information to students; keeping in mind that with innovation, certain traditional standards must hold & are frankly unavoidable, in the mastery of mathematics.

We hope to give the students, and all those seeking mathematics enrichment, in the Baltimore - Washington, DC area an understanding of the impact mathematics has on the many facets of their lives, and empower them with the tools to be stronger analytical thinkers & problem solvers.
"If you can dream — and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same"
